Garden of Love
Because Minneapolis and St. Paul are considered Twin Cities, I think that on rare occasions it is appropriate for me to visit "that other city." Lakewood Cemetery is a large, beautifully landscaped cemetery in which many Minnesota notables are interred. In addition to the typical gravestones and vaults, small gardens are found around the cemetery. This large stained glass panel is the centerpiece in The Garden of Love.

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
I'll try not to be a stranger...AGAIN! LOL!
;)
I'd love to go there. Strange, but I've always loved cemeteries. :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm more confused than ever. I clicked the Lakeland Cemetery Wiki link you provided. Scrolled down to the notable burials in the cemetery. What name should stood out to me like a sore thumb? One Frank C. Mars, creator of the Milky Way candy bar!
ReplyDeleteAt last count, he is buried in 5 confirmed locations.
Talk about confusing....
That's a beautiful stained glass panel. One doesn't see them as a stand alone outside often. Nicely captured.

ReplyDeletethat is beautiful and it's nice how the light really picks up all the colors in the glass
ReplyDeleteLight is coming through it in the right angle, emphasizing the religious motif of the stained glass. Great work Kate.
