Gemini Goes to Kindergarten

Gemini, an 11-year-old remarkably patient dog, went with the author of his many pubished stories to my grand-daughter's kindergarten class on Thursday, October 25. Because of privacy issues, I posted no photos of the childen's faces on my ExtraExtra blog. Too bad...because their expressions and obvious love of animals was wonderful to see. Check the other photos to see the owner and Gemini in action. If you want to see Gemini's website, click here.

  1. This is a lovely idea. The children are entranced and dogs, as we all know, help everyone to relax.

Gemini is a gorgeous old dog.

Kate, I attempted to answer your question on Blue Door - on Menton DP yesterday.

  3. Kate, The shot of Gemini in the witches hat is priceless. Especially his nonchalant attitude. I can imagine the kids totally into the whole visit.

  5. Great photos! I liked the witch's hat on Gemini...I'm not so sure that he was thrilled though. I am imagine the kids just had a tremendous time.

  6. What a good dog, wearing hats and sitting so patiently. If Olivia doesn't have a pet dog now, I bet she wants one after this!

  9. Oh he is an older Black Lab!!! I can tell by the gray whiskers. Our son and family have 2 Black Labs and the older, has such.

They are the most wonderful dogs! We love them to pieces. But of course, we say they are so well behaved and a joy, because our d-i-law did such a wonderful job of training them.

Thank you for showing us Gemini!

  11. yes, thanks for showing us Gemini and his site. :)

That is such a great thing in the US - therapy dogs, and working dogs.
I watched a prog on TV where they showed kids with reading problems and they were asked to read to dogs. They improved their reading. The kids said that the dogs are patient, don't interrupt and correct us. It was so funny to watch the expressions on the dogs face when the kids were reading.
