Hawai'i Bug
Some of you who have been daily photo bloggers for a long time may remember this bugmobile. This time I am posting it with Molly, the owner, inside and about to drive away. Molly, a former teaching colleague of mine, has been an aficionado of the Islands for decades. Her Volkswagen was painted in Honolulu and then shipped to Minnesota. Whether it is in motion or parked, the car generates lots of interest and conversation. For a rear view of the car, click here. Wouldn't it be fun to own it? Forget about the resale value. We only live once!! PS. I'll be gone for a few days, living in a cabin on the north shore of Lake Superior. Be back soon!

Good golly, miss Molly!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip, Kate!
Well Kate what to say. I'd like to have one. Yes I know to drive a "flowered" beetle may be considered charming if the driver is a woman but I don't mind, I will exchange my blue serious one with this happy one !!! --- Enjoy your trip !!!
ReplyDeleteThe car looks awesome and, yes, I'd like to own one just like it BUT how much did she have to pay for the paint job and the shipping?
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute bug! You are right...we only live once. Have a great time on your trip and come back to us soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm always amazed at the mystique of Hawaii and how it translates in novel ways in other parts of the world. This is a beautiful, joyful creation!

ReplyDeletethis bug is very cute..and smile is great!:)
ReplyDeletethat's a cool car Kate.
ReplyDeletehave a great trip!
The rear of the car is really nice! OK, you live only once, but cars normally don't last that long, so maybe the resale value should come into account. With a bit of luck she would perhaps be able to sell it with a plus value. Fabrizio seems already to be interested.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice trip!
Nice bug and lovely paint job. You are right, Kate, we only live once and for some reason it is within our brains to put things off until tomorrow. For those who missed out on tomorrow, sad.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun filled time on Lake Superior. Take some pictures of those polished stones at Copper Harbor if you go there. I have never seen anything like them.
Thanks for your many visits to my blog and for coming by this morning.
Cute bug and cute lady. The owner seems to be a very happy lady. :-))
ReplyDeleteI admire your friend for living large and indulging in her passion. As you said, you only live once.
ReplyDeleteIf only I have the courage to do so. I'm a little risk averse.

ReplyDeleteIt was brought to my attention by a visitor to my blog and I would like to take the opportunity to spread it further. Please give it a bit of space - I think it is a good idea and should be extended outside the USA. Thank you.
