In order to keep recommended safe distance and to encourage neighbors to stop and visit while taking their daily walks, I brought a bench to the front entrance of our home, I could sit on our front steps while chatting. Our daughter and granddaughter were the first visitors to test the idea. They are wearing masks because DH Jim is convalescing from a serious medical emergency, which is a challenge during a pandemic. The bench has been declared a success!

MY NEIGHBORHOOD-GUEST PHOTOGRAPHER
I am still trying to figure out blogger's new format since I last posted regularly, which is frustrating so please bear with me. This scene is far too common in recent years. Unfortunately we have encroached on wildlife territory so we see deer and lots of coyotes in our urban neighborhood. Look closely and you will see me standing by the silver car in the background, gawking with the rest of the neighbors while hoping that this little one will make it safely home probably a few block away by the Mississippi River.

VISUAL ST PAUL
It has been so long since my last post that I am not sure how to do this anymore! The homeowner on the corner of a busy street close to my home always displays this enormous pot of beautiful geraniums every year. It is a beacon of beauty that I always anticipate with pleasure!

"Streetscape" February, 2020 Theme Day
What fun it was to follow this car yesterday!! Going in the same direction as I, I followed this car with the interesting tire cover for blocks but had a difficult time getting my iPhone to work without detection since our state has a law against texting while driving. Yet I managed to get a photo of the scene that shows a snowy element of my current environment.

Theme Day January 1, 2020 Photo of the Year,
Although I have not been posting faithfully for several months (for a variety of reasons), I couldn't pass up the chance to participate today! This is my favorite road which leads to the ferry to take us to Washington Island, Door County, Wisconsin, where my family and I have vacationed for decades. I love the Island located in Door County where I was born.

Early voting
For every election in which I have participated, I have awakened early and joined the morning group that is exercising our precious right to vote. I have always enjoyed this process, and until this year I have never voted early. My branch library happens to be my polling place and while checking out a book last week, I noticed the people who were lined up to vote early. Realizing that the weather is getting colder, I thought, "Why not! If I vote now, I can sleep in on Tuesday morning!" Good idea!
Be sure to vote !!

My Day of the Dead images
Yesterday I showed you typical cemetery scenes from México during el dia de los muertos sent to me by a friend. These are images I found in El Burrito in St. Paul. Clearly they are a different way to express the celebration, but we are far from México!
