Chihuly Chandelier
This wonderful glass chandelier, a creation of Dale Chihuly, hangs high in the foyer that is jointly shared by The Children's Theatre and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. I was there to take a one day a week, four-week class/tour on contemporary American Art in the MIA. More on that follows next week.

It's an invader from outer space!
ReplyDeleteI love it.
I have the perfect spot for that in my place! ;-))
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of a kid I knew in grad school in the early 70s. His hair was a little darker, but the cut was pretty much the same. :)
ReplyDeleteI love it! But, you probably knew I would!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely his style of art!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a ball of spaghetti. :)
ReplyDeleteI have seen his work at UW Madison. He is amazing.
ReplyDeleteWe stayed in Tacoma, Washington on a visit to our old neighborhood and there was art glass everywhere, including a bridge of glass by Tacoma native Dale Chihuly. Amazing stuff!
ReplyDeleteHis work shows up all over. We came upon one of his chandeliers in an art museum in Balboa Park, San Diego, CA.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet that class is a real treat!
It's very unique, kind of reminds me of noodles.
ReplyDeleteNo offense, Kate, but I have seen a lot of Chihuly glass and in general I like it, but this one leaves me cold. Just one color and a simple ball shape. He can do better.
