While walking with a cane on icy sidewalks and holding a leash with Wild Wendy at the end, it is sometimes difficult to produce an image that isn't blurred. Whenever I see one of these birdhouses, I often stop and think about one of our former bloggers, Birdman, who died unexpectedly several years ago. I like to think that my pause is a small homage to his memory, a person whom I never met but I still miss.

I still miss him and his posts and comments too.
ReplyDeleteSo good of you to remember Birdman. He was an interesting character. The world is a bit less colorful without him.
ReplyDeleteLovely post Kate. I miss him too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tribute Kate. I have a feeling that Birdman is missed a great many people and a good many of them never actually met him. His humanity and wit came through on every post he wrote. I miss him too.
ReplyDeleteYes, I miss him too. When I see the statue of Rocket Richard, the Montreal hockey player, I think of what Birdman the Bruins fan had to say about the Rocket.
ReplyDeleteNice of you to remember.
ReplyDeleteRIP, Birdman. I still miss him too. And EG Camera Girl, a Canadian. Isn't this virtual blogging community interesting? I never would have expected it when I retired, especially given that I had no idea what a blog even was. And yet here I am, pulling for you in your knee recovery...
ReplyDeleteOh, I miss him, too, Kate. Next spring I have a picture book coming out from Candlewick inspired by one of Birdman's posts (with his permission and his blessings). I wish he'd lived long enough to see it published. The best I could do was dedicate the book to him. Thank you for this.
