In past posts I have pointed out that the Fine Arts Department in the school where I used to teach has an outstanding art department. Art that is produced by middle and high school students is quite sophisticated as well as creative. Yesterday I went to a concert by the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra at the new Performing Art Center built for the school, which is available for use by the community. Art work by the students lined the walls, and I was particularly impressed by this painting done by a graduating senior.

I am always amazed when young ones show so much talent.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Sometimes our younger counterparts can produce quite imaginative and beautiful works of art. The oldsters, on the other hand, can produce real crap but if a certain name is attached to it, it's automatically considered brilliant. Argh.
ReplyDeleteThis young person has quite a future ahead!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree - outstanding.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful work by the artist.
ReplyDeleteThe artwork is very good. Hopefully, they can continue at the college level.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is very well done. I hope the artist continues and is mentored by someone who can set her or him on a productive course.
ReplyDeleteA very nice painting!
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased to see high school art. Much of it is very good, and I like it that art is still a subject....
ReplyDeleteExcellent Kate, I think artistic talent shows through at a very early age.
