Contemporary Homes

My favourite street in St. Paul is Stonebridge Boulevard, about only two blocks in length and located between St. Clair and Jefferson Streets.  The east side of the street is hilly and covered with tall trees.  Because of the heavy cover of leaves in summer, it is difficult to see and photograph the homes, but they can easily be seen during the winter months. If we were looking for a new home today, rather than downsizing, one of these would be my first choice.  It is so curious because we have lived in our two story brick colonial for the last 40 years. . .so different from the homes on this block!!

  1. Great looking houses! They remind me a street in my home town in Illinois.

  2. They do look nice, though I am traditional enough to prefer colonials up north and Tuscans or Old Florida down south.

  3. They are very nice. There are many nice houses in the Twin Cities. I'm amazed though at how much they cost!

  4. I bet the homes have lovely views but I wouldn't want to drive up and down the driveway on ice or snow.

  5. American residential areas are SOOO more pleasant to live than anywhere here!

  7. Some nice houses. Those trees create nice shade in the summer.

  8. I love being able to see things during winter that we can't see in summer.

  9. I think you are a very modern thinking person, and open to new ideas. Which is why you are attracted to the modern design. Not sure what that says about me?

  11. I love this neighborhood in St. Paul! An aging "Helen" would also choose this design. Love how our tastes evolve as time passes.

I love the big gardens and the big trees too.

  13. Pretty locations though I'd personally shy away from a driveway so steep that stairs are needed!
