Wendy, our foster dog, came to us to heal after surgery for a fractured pelvis and broken leg. This was her second visit to the animal chiropractor. Wendy doesn't always put weight on her hind leg and sometimes walks and hops around without using it, but she actually is doing quite well. We do therapy exercises with her; she races up and down our stairs and jumps off and on furniture (still haven't trained her not to do that, tho) so she must be healing.

When our rescued Boston terrier, Buddha, came to us he had been badly abused and had injuries similar to Wendy's; his veterinarian was considering removing the leg because he was responding poorly to treatment. Fortunately a lot of love, his innate good health, and a few months of giving him daily massage and a slightly higher protein/healthy fats diet worked well for Buddha. He has now regained about 80% of the function in that leg and has no problem keeping up with the much younger Geraldo.
ReplyDeleteFor Wendy and the other wonderful rescues you have helped and will help: Thank You!
Pretty dog! And that is very kind and generous of you, to be fosters for a healing animal.
ReplyDeleteWendy is a pretty dog. I am so glad she is doing well and healing after the surgery. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteawww. good girl.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little doggy!
DeleteWell, I think Wendy should just keep jumping and hopping on furniture. That's what dogs are supposed to do. Unless they are bigger than the furniture. Then, it's a problem. :)
ReplyDeleteAww Wendy is gorgeous.. gosh you guys do such a wonderful job fostering pets Kate.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cutie.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of rescue dogs, obviously, but the idea of fostering dogs is a new one to me. I hear that an application for sainthood for Jim and you is pending . . .
ReplyDeleteShe looks like a sweetie. It looks like she's patiently letting him do his thing.
ReplyDeleteWendy is a cutie & you are wonderful in caring for her. She looks like a Poodle. My wife & I are owned by a Black Toy Girl named Dixie. I think she is quite pleased with the services we provide her.
