During an August road trip and a stop at a park on Lake Superior, I saw these large pieces of driftwood. It won't be long now before this kind of scenery will be a thing of the past because of winter snow and ice. Oh, dear!!
I saw a car just yesterday with a big piece of driftwood strapped to the top of it.I think they were probably going to put it in their garden. I think you are correct about snow and ice being on the way.
Nope, not this year because we have to oversee chimney/ fireplace repairs and floor tiles/sump pump installation that cannot be scheduled until winter. Sad, home-ownership is not always pleasant. Compensating for our anticipated frigid winter experiences we have scheduled a summer trip to Ireland!
N-o-o-o-o-o! I don't want to think about winter yet (and ours barely holds a candle to yours; I'm just a wimp). But, Ireland in summer! That's something to really look forward to!
You should go back in the dead of winter and get the same picture, lol. That driftwood would make a nice art piece.

ReplyDeleteLove this driftwood. I don't want to think about the winter yet though!!!
ReplyDeleteSurely not for a few months yet Kate? Good thing you caught these two beauties before it's too late!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you caught this when you did.
ReplyDeletelooks pretty, now.
ReplyDeleteYa, but won't you be in Santa Fe... miles and miles away?

DeleteI wonder if the driftwood will still be there next summer. Beaches have a way of changing how they look in a very short time.
ReplyDeleteMy friend in California has a beautiful glass-topped table (base is driftwood) and I love it....
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of driftwood. Like you I take photos and leave the driftwood on the shore for others to enjoy. Neat photos.
ReplyDeleteMy mother loved driftwood like this. Good shots, Kate!

No Santa Fe this winter? That is too bad. But, I suppose you have had a lifetime of cold to become accustomed to a northern winter.
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful pieces.
ReplyDeleteLove driftwood but I can only find it here after some really big storms.
