I love Lucy Ficher's work Kate.. so are these paintings actually on glass, how cool would it be to have a vase filled with gorgeous roses, some old, some buds.. with these Ficher images on them. I want one so much :)
Yes, these are all done on glass and VERY difficult to photograph at my skill level because the ceiling lights are so evident in most of my photos. Our Unitarian Church features a new artist (or group like the quilt exhibit and silent auction last month) and May is all Ficher's artwork. Terrific display; wish y'all could see it!
At every chronological age there is a wide dispersion of emotional and physical ages. I am coming up on a major high school reunion this year, and it is striking how varied class members seem to be. Quite a few behave like they have one foot in the grave, and maybe they do. At the other end, a guy posts continually on Facebook about a rapper who appeals to people decades younger than we are, and a different guy spends his winters skiing every day. Am I old? Are you old? The birth certificates say one thing. The mirror says something different. And our attitudes says still a third thing.
Well...if they only knew the ingredients in that jar!
ReplyDeleteI love her work!

ReplyDeleteI like the artist's imagination!
ReplyDeleteYes, we're all made of a little of this and a little of that!
ReplyDeleteI like this kind of quirky !

DeleteNote: I originally had a typo on her name; if any of you are looking for her book, spell it Fischer, please.
DeleteI like this one even more than yesterdays.
ReplyDeleteThis is great and so true!
ReplyDeleteExcellent find! Lucy Fischer is a gem!
ReplyDeleteWe certainly do....
ReplyDeleteI think the caption mentioned younger people; so you think you qualify?
Deletewow. so powerful a statement. bless her!
ReplyDeleteNice! I was regarded as an odd specimen even when I was young.
ReplyDeleteHa,ha, young people have to wait and see in a few years.!
ReplyDeleteI've begun to look at young people as if they're a different species!!!
ReplyDeleteI suppose the feeling is mutual. I love her take on it, enjoy her wit.
ReplyDeleteNow that's entirely different!
ReplyDeleteShe does good work.

Hmmm... we will all be older one day. No judging people of any age here!
ReplyDeleteThis is most interesting. And I love all the variations. Looks like some Picassos in the budding.
