The Capitol and the Cathedral

Located rather close to one another, both the Capitol and the Cathedral are imposing structures.

DH and I are flying away to the Southeast and then renting a car to drive to St. Augustine, Savannah, Beaufort and Charleston and places in-between. I've scheduled some posts while I'm gone, but I'll probably add a few pictures that I take on the trip, too.  I am excited to be going to these historical cities! I'd love to meet more bloggers in any of those cities, too.  Hint! Hint!

  1. The cathedral, in particular, looks like a spot of Europe dropped into St. Paul.

  6. I have seen both! I've been to Minnesota quite a few times in my day...I always visited an aunt up there. She has since past but I have great memories of the Twin Cities.

  9. Wow! What beautiful buildings! One of these days soon I'm going to post a picture of our local city hall. Compared to spots like these it's modest, to say the least.

What nice destinations for spring travel! Have a wonderful trip!

  10. I know St. Augustine best and you will have a great time there...be sure to go through the old schoolhouse!

Looking at the two pictures it reminds me as to how often political buildings look like religious structures. There's probably a reason for that!
