Window Wonderland or Ugly Reality?

The top photo is the image that comes to mind when romantics think of beautiful snowfalls and winter wonderland, but the image at the bottom is the reality of Midwestern snowfalls...months and months of dirty, discoloured snow lining the curbs and covering the icy streets. The top is the scene next door after a gentle and slight snowfall and the bottom is our current curbside scene after our recent covering of snow.  What can I say? More predicted on Wednesday!

Those ugly snow walls are coming here until April! Before that also every snow walls are higher and higher but beautifully white :))

  4. Absolutely. 8 am and I am looking out at beautiful trees but wondering just when I'll be able to get out to buy some food - not desperate yet but with more snow forecast I daren't leave it too long.

And here it seems the local authorities are running out of grit!

  5. You have two average the two images together, don't you? And of course every few days you get a new layer of fresh snow to restore the pristine beauty on all surfaces, at least for a minute or two : )

  7. Well, it's January in Minnesota - part of the deal! I'd call in Winter Wonderland! Does it look different in Mazatlan?

  9. When I first opened this, I thought from the warmth of sunny Arizona, it does look like a winter wonderland. Your second photo brought me back to reality.

  10. I guess it depends on if you have to go outside or can just stay in and enjoy the view from the warmth of the home.

  12. Seen from here is clearly beautiful, but I am not sure how it would be living with that everyday for a while...

  15. Yeah.....a little of both. Wonderland until the cars turn the piles of slush black...then more of an ugly reality. One that we deal with on a daily basis here in Minnesota. So it is probably best to try and put a positive spin on it....'Wonderland'. :)
