Hollywood Music Classics
Sunday afternoon we were treated to an hour and a half of "Hollywood Music Classics" by the Inver Hills Community Band and the Temple of Aaron Adult Choir and Soloists. The photo is of the musical director and trumpet soloist. Some of the medleys included themes from Star Wars Epic, Hollywood Milestones, (Jaws, Love Story, E.T. and others), Shindler's List, Porgy and Bess, Titanic, James Bond Suite, Fiddler on the Roof, and closing with a stirring rendition of "God Bless America" by performers and audience alike. Despite being an urban dweller, I sometimes yearn to live in a small community because this performance reminded me of towns where an event like this would have been an important social event. I miss the sense of small, close communities.

cela devait être un bon concert, j'adore écouter les cuivres en band.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice this sort of music... The trumpet are very pretty. Good shot Kate !
ReplyDeleteNice photo, Kate.
ReplyDeleteConcerning your last remark, I have the feeling that although living in a big city like Paris, there is still a chance to a lot of "village life". A lot of local activities take place, including in the part of town where I live, "Batignolles". Nice!!
ReplyDeleteSmall, close communities where everyone knows your business! Well, there's a flip side to everything... ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love a live music performance, it must have been nice!
I love going to a live concert. It's nice that your community offers this.
ReplyDeleteHello Kate,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting.
I agree with Peter, even in Big cities you can find the sense of small communities, neighborhood feelings!!
An hour and a half of a very nice repertory!!
Kate, what a wonderful portrait. You know these are near and dear to my heart. Well done!
ReplyDeleteLove to hear the theme songs from movies.
