"The Source" by Alonzo Hauser in Rice Park
This fountain is a favorite resting place for visitors to this lovely little park in downtown St. Paul, a square bordered by the Central Library, Ordway Theatre, the Landmark Center, and the St. Paul Hotel. Photographed by visitors and photo bloggers, too, the lovely young maiden has appeared on my blog before as well as other Twin City bloggers. Obviously this photo was not taken during the Winter Carnival but in a softer and gentler season. To see another favorite fountain on Kellogg Blvd. in St. Paul, click here.

ReplyDeleteA beautiful fountain with an interesting sculpture. I really like the place...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a neat place to sit nearby.
ReplyDeleteThe strong big hands of the girl can tell a story of her life.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a cozy park, I like the blooms on the trees, I cant wait for it. You can keep the Packers and the weather they brought with them, lol.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering how you were going to handle the fountain theme day in the middle of winter. I thought you might show a fountain in the conservatory that you showed recently, but today's photo from another season is certainly worthy.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful contribution to the theme day, Kate! I really like this fountain!
ReplyDeleteShe appears to be buoyed up by the water. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful fountain. A very good choice for today. I can see that it would be hard to find a fountain in your area with running water right now.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice one! I can see why someone would just want to hang out for awhile and listen to the water.
ReplyDeleteLooks like she's tiptoeing through the water. Neat fountain.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fountain in a gentle season (coming soon, I hope for you!)
ReplyDeleteThe low profile of the water sprays put the focus on the bronze sculpture... just beautiful

ReplyDeleteI like this one, Kate. It is a good sculpture, a not-overpowering series of sprays, and it looks like a pleasant place to sit and talk for a while. Nice.

ReplyDeleteObviously, too, this is a favored spot for the locals, as per that couple on the bench in the background. A great place to be on a warm summer's day! Just lovely!
