Tipsy!

We finally arrived home after two wonderful months in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  If you missed some of my posts from that city, you might want to check here. Our trip home was almost as exciting as our visit.  For two days we encountered incredible crosswinds in New Mexico, Colorado, and Nebraska with signs warning high profile vehicles to "be cautious!"  (Whatever that means!) Apparently there were a few trucks we passed  that weren't cautious enough! The wind actually drowned out conversation,  and it made passing trucks on the interstate a true adventure. Glad to be home but already miss the Southwest.  I really should live there!

Yes you should Kate! (Live in NM, that is.) But there's no better place than the Twin Cities in the summertime. You must have driven through Raton on your way home to MN. I hope you waved to me.... ;)

  3. Oh my! This is scary stuff. I don't like wind when traveling.

  4. Driving in the wind is so scary. I try to find my on space on the road and drive carefully.

  6. Welcome home - glad you're back safely. A Swedish expression says: "Borta bra men hemma bast." (Away is good but at home is best.)

  7. Glad you made it back safely! It has been unusually windy here, too...so maybe there is something going on across the nation.

And I think you'll really want to head back to Santa Fe when winter arrives again!

So, why don't you live there year-round?

  8. Just a note to let you know that you would be most welcome in the Southwest. We can't wait for you to join us.

It's a little scary when you see one of these rigs on it's side. I encountered one not long ago and was in fact the first on the scene so I called for help. The drive was still inside. He was okay, but trying to figure out how to get out.

Glad you made it home safely. Hope Minnesota is starting to warm up!

  11. Wow, that's not something you see every day. Must have been very windy to flip a semi-trailer.
