Clothes and Shoes Only!

These metal containers located in the parking lot next to a dry cleaners are receptacle for donated but gently used clothes and shoes.  I wonder how long they'll remain there? It's my understanding that many unsuitable objects are frequently found inside, left by careless or mischievous donors. I'd hate to be the one who has to empty these; yet, it might be fun to see what's inside!

  1. on trouve la même chose en France, ou des fois on voit autre chose que des vêtements, malheureusement des gens s'en servent comme poubelles

  2. We've got some like this - but they're essentially anonymous...they want the same - shoes and clothes only - but there's nothing to identify who or what sponsors them...we give to Goodwill or the Salvation Army instead!

    'Tis a very colorful photo!

  4. We have large ones here. People have been known to sleep in them. Scary, if you happen to be making a donation while "occupied."

  5. When I first saw this picture, I thought that it would be great to have something like that close to us. But after reading what you wrote, I remembered that we did have some at one time but the contents kept getting set on fire so they were taken out. We still drive to the Goodwill store to donate.

  6. There could certainly be some "funny" surprises inside! I saw a green colored container just like that in Eagan yesterday while gassing up my car....

  7. I hope they don't put anything nasty in there. We have some set up around town for the recent victims of the tornados in Yazoo City. Maybe I ought to take some things over there.

  8. It could be interesting and weird at the same time, to explore what they left inside...

  9. The idea for recycling shoes and clothes is such a good one but I have heard stories about people who try to make a profit on this.

  10. We've the same sort of thing in France,Kate. Seems a good idea but often I see bags sprawling all over the pavement.

Thanks for your comment and I hope you are now feeling better. I too have been lax comments but my excuse is I'm simply too busy and it's going to get worse as summer comes along. Meanwhile your bright red certainly woke me up this morning!
