Would you rather have a Nook from Barnes and Noble or a Kindle from Amazon?

    I prefer printed books, but if I ever were to get an ereader, I'd lean more towards the Nook.

    Is that a electronic book or whatyamacallit? I'm not sure whether I would like one of those. I love to be able to hold a book and turn the pages...

    My dear mother-in-law gave me a Kindle last Christmas and I have enjoyed it. But, the price of books available for all book readers has gone up substantially, amd I hope comes back down, because I won't pay the same price for a book in electronic form as I would for a published one. I like the Kindle's features just fine except that the screen is not lighted in the dark. That was a conscious choice on Amazon's part and I think, as a reader, I would like the choice of a lighted screen to read in the dark. That said, I think the iPad and its future competitors will kill the market pretty much for the Nook, the Kindle and Sony's products. . . And you can read it in the dark as well as all the other computer functions and apps the iPad and its competitors offer. If they put a camera in the iPad, that would make it near perfect for a lot of folks to have an all-in-one mini computer/book reader. JMHO. :-).

    I haven't played with either, but I don't much like Amazon, so I'll go with the Nook!
