Red tailed Hawk; Favorite Photo of Previous Year, 2018


I saw this beauty looking like a statue on a neighbor's fence post.  Investigating by leaping out of my car to photograph the bird, it allowed me to get within 5 feet as it watched while I slowly advanced, snapping photos. I was thrilled to make its acquaintance!

    A great capture! It looks curious. I'm glad the big birds don't seem to spook and fly away as fast as the small birds do. That's why I get more photos of large birds than small ones. Happy New Year!
