A decade or two ago there were many riding stables close to St. Paul, but now they are fewer in number. We were lucky enough to find Davenport Stables in an area that is about 50 minutes from our home. The stable is well-maintained with plenty of land for all the horses.
Oh, is he giving you the eye? As in, let us eat in peace! :-)
ReplyDeleteCute photo!
I love horses and dogs or dogs and horses. I would have a horse if I could. I had dogs all my life but the heartache at parting caused my wife to develop a hard heart and she flatly refuses to go through that again so we are presently dogless and horseless.
ReplyDeleteI really like this photo of this horse. Wow. An impressive shot, Kate.
Happy horses mean happy riders. Great shot of a very contented horse. Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteWere you looking for a photo opportunity, a horse ride, a place to stable your horses, or all of the above?
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the horses! Have a great week Kate.
ReplyDeleteI love animals, although I prefer to stay away from cats since I am highly allegic to them. Actually, I'm allergic to most animals except horses and dogs. I'm with Abe, but the heartache is awful when something happens. Both of mine have health problems now. . . .Sigh.
ReplyDeleteDid you ride?
BTW. . The new photo on the site was taken at my husband's retirement party. One of us is having a hard time adjusting to this new way of life, and it isn't HIM. ;-)
Those are pretty horses. The white one is eyeing you.
ReplyDeleteBon appétit ;o))
ReplyDeleteDearest Kate,
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed commenting on so many of your very interesting posts. I just don't have the time for daily comments any more. In fact I'm thinking of giving up daily posting too. It's just too much.
I read yesterday's post with much interest. I hadn't realized it would be so difficult (and dangerous) to get a glimpse of the convention.
I fear for America and the world when I hear Palin saying that the war in Irak is God's war. ENOUGH of religious extremism! These people are just as dangerous as Islamist fanatics!
Unfortunately the results of your presidential elections will have consequences for the planet as a whole - hence our keen interest the results.
Nice portrait again! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThey certainly look like happy horses!!
ReplyDeleteRiding stables close down here too and there are often heartbreaking messages on the local forum from riders desperate to find buyers for the ponies to save them from the meat man..
ReplyDeleteThese look well cared for and in good condition..
Nice horsies. Neigh!!
