Entrophy

When scurrying around the St Paul UST campus, trying to find information of the sculptures I have posted the last two days, I found this painting in the Engineering Building on Summit Avenue. This one did have an explanatory plaque!!

Entrophy by Kevin Gross, 1996
Gift of Faculty
From the Division of Science and Mathematics

I rather fancy this image. Don't you?

  3. Yes, I do too. The colors are great and the shapes are gentle. I'm really touched that you'd go out of your way looking for info for us! :) Sweet.

  5. I may be dumb (ok I am dumb). But can I see the word Entrophy in that?

It`s fascinating, I could look at it again and again, it`s evocative of summer colours, cheerful.
    Have a happy weekend, Kate!

Yes, indeed, I prefer this to the sculpture, but then my best friend spent most of his life hammering away at stones and the farthest he got was a hole through one big stone and a blue ribbon - best of show. Those painters, me among them, made enough off painting to buy things like washers and dryers. Those were the good times when arthritis didn't make my arms feel like lead weights.

Nice photo. I like the painting too.

p2f1 = my going green slogan. Means: Pee twice and flush once to save half of the water otherwise flushed away.

  12. It's got the right colors to please me.

I was watching the Travel Channel yesterday and heard that Philadelphia, PA is called "the city of murals" and I thought, nope, it's St. Paul, MN.

  16. It is indeed a loverly picture. I never really know why I like certain pieces of art but some pieces just reach out and grab me. I also like the colors in this.
