There are many lovely homes on Summit Avenue in St. Paul, but not many have a fence and gate such as this. To the right there is another identical gate that opens to the driveway and garage. A bit ostentatious for a urban area?
Linking to Good Fences
Just a bit?
ReplyDeleteit's totally beautiful, though! thanks, kate!
ReplyDeleteI think it's quite nice. It seems to be in harmony with this house. Isn't Summit Avenue one of the city's ritzy streets?
ReplyDeleteFancy schmancy fence. There are areas in Toronto with ostentatious fences like that. Must be NICE to have money like that.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gate, but I like the unfenced front yards of my old American neighbourhood much better!
ReplyDeleteI find it not ostentatious.. it's very beautiful and decent.
ReplyDeleteNah, not ostentatious for Summit Avenue! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI lived in a house once where the front was fenced. My little daughter loved the freedom of have both the front and back to play in. I like it
ReplyDeleteI see lots of gated places like this here in the desert. This is certainly a beautiful home.
ReplyDeleteIt is very beautiful and suits the house.
ReplyDeleteIs there a gate area to the garage too? Beautiful home.
ReplyDeleteI think the brick walkway and the gate go well together.
ReplyDeleteA very fashionable fence, ready for a villa.
ReplyDeleteA stately abode --- why not flaunt it? Keep the dogs in and the riffraff out, and create photo opportunities...
ReplyDeleteI give it a 'thumbs up'.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and classy.
ReplyDeleteQuite an elegant gate!
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice looking home. Too big for me though.
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty place. I'm fine with the fence and gate, though it would not be my choice.
ReplyDeleteLovely gate and fence.
ReplyDeleteI don't care for fences on the front side of a house. But at least this one is open and not the privacy style.
ReplyDeleteI like it, though probably wouldn't live there. It kind of says, "Stay away."
ReplyDeleteIt's not bad Kate, not keen on gates myself but as gates go these are rather nice.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty for a gate. I guess if you can't live in a gated community this would be the next best thing?
