  1. These are beautiful! Here we only see the white onces.

  2. Keep trying to figure out if that is a painting or a photograph. Very pretty.

Surely it will be warm up there for awhile?

    1. Not a painting . . . only nature's handiwork. It's a pond in the Japanese Garden in Como Park in St. Paul.

  3. Love the colors of these lily pads. Enjoy them now as everything has it's season!

  4. Very pretty. I love the lavender color! Would you really want summer all year 'round? You could move to south Florida. But we moved from south Florida to Ocala 'cause we wanted a bit of change-of-seasons. Not too much, just enough! :)

  6. Every time I see a lily pad photo I now think of the realtor who sold Julie's mother's house to her. She attended an art exhibition where a lilly pad photo I took was on display and wanted to buy it, so I gave it to her. She wanted it because her late son had a favorite park that features lily pads.

It is always sad when a child, whether still a child or as an adult, pre-deceases a parent. Sorry to leave a melancholy comment.

  7. I am always happy to see a water lily. They are such show offs with their bright and pretty flowers.

  8. Beautiful flowers and the leaves are lovely, too. Nice composition!

I share your sentiment. We have trees here that are already starting to turn yellow. Our summers seem remarkably short!

  9. I have been meaning to answer your question about the lens I use but keep forgetting. So I just thought of it and wanted to do it before it pops out of my mind again. I have been using a Nikon Coolpix P510. It's the same one that Sharon and Dave and Julie use. It's a great little camera and very light weight. It's lens is a zoom from wide angle up to 42X which is amazing. I use it most of the time now.

  12. Very nice, Kate. I took some similar photos of lily pads recently but was disappointed that the colors washed out. You did a better job.
