The Red House in Savannah

When we planned our Southeast road trip we forgot that it was Easter and Passover at the same time.  We had a wonderful time in Saint Augustine, Florida, but was almost without accommodations in Savannah.  Luckily for us, we called the owner of this tiny Red House right after previous renters left because of a family situation. This very tiny house with a loft bedroom is featured on the cover and in the book Savannah's Little Crooked Houses. Circa 1845 this historic cottage is on every tour as the smallest free standing house in the historic district. It is located on Greene Square, two blocks from River Street. It's really a funky little place.

Added later:  I'm having lots of fun here.  Many cars, tours, and trolleys stop to view and photograph the house.  Sometimes I quickly open the door and wave; I've had my picture taken many times already!

  5. Ah do think, dahling, that y'all choose a rahther cool place to make a pit stop on your way through the south heading toward Yankee country!

Was it as good as it looks.

Yes, we've spent many happy times in St. Augustine. Used to go there on spring break when we were teaching. Did you get to the oldest schoolhouse in the whole universe? Well, in the U.S. I think.
