A Beaufort Bridge

Unlike the Ravenel Bridge in Charleston, SC, this bridge in Beaufort is an earlier vintage.  Beaufort is located on Port Royal Island, in the heart of the Sea Islands and Lowcountry. The city is renowned for its scenic location and for maintaining a historic character through its impressive antebellum architecture

  1. Terrific composition, Kate! And what a lovely spot with the palm trees and the brick work.

  5. Looks like a very nice spot, though much of it looks fresh and new to me - brickwork and such. It also says "warm and sunny," something that would be very welcome about now!

  9. I surely do like this one BETTER than that fearsome one we used to drive over when all the girls would met on the Isle of Palms each summer. That one like the one into Savannah are grim. The Chesapeake Bay one is far less terrifying. This one looks sturdy and appears to be pretty lever. genie

  10. Geeze, am I getting old. I missed the “unlike” in your sentence. This is a Beaufort bridge and NOT a Charleston Bridge. Sorry about that. genie
