Pianos on Parade #3-"Under the Sea"

To have a whale of a time...

Sit down and play!

This is one of the 20 pianos as part of the Pianos on Parade project. Located downtown at the Traveler's buildings across from St. Peter Street, it was painted by students at the Northwest Youth and Family Services center.  To see two pianos I have posted earlier, go here and here.

"It's like a whole orchestra, the piano for me."

  2. Maybe something from Jelly(fish)roll Morton?

Could be a requisite from the cover of Joe Walsh's "Just seriously folks"

  6. At Crystal Cove State Beach between Newport Beach and Laguna Beach, California, there is a long pedestrian tunnel under the roadway to get to the beach. The had location school children paint nautical and beach scenes, many with environmental messages, on the walls. They look similar to the paintings on the piano in your photo today.

  12. We have this kind of thing coming to Winchester soon, I'm just learning to play so would possibly be too embarrased to 'perform' in public!

  14. It is unusual to select pianos to decorate for this fundraiser. I wonder where they got the ones to paint, and if they had to be in good tune.
