Yes, you did indeed! An historic day, never to be forgotten. I have such a good feeling about this charismatic, intelligent, thoughtful leader and therefore the future of America and the world.
Yes, you did and it's wonderful! The night has been short here, we were so in a hurry to know the results! And it's so touching too. But I'm too romantic! I'm so happy!
Kate, regarding the post I posted yesterday (before the election results came out) with the US flag showing a number of countries damaged by a ruthless American foreign policy, you were quite right in saying it was inappropriate on this beautiful day. I withdrew it and replaced it bu the "good morning America" post with a ladybird (which you saw).
I am glad I did that because the new post suited my mood much better.
I just wanted you to know that I am re-posting the other post tomorrow, in a milder form though.
I still wanted to post it because I think posters with strong political messages are a feature of daily life in Avignon and as such have a place on my blog.
I hope the milder version of my commentary doesn't hurt your feelings so much. I understand that there are millions of good people in America but the reality is people in power can get pretty ruthless out there.
I stayed up all night in the UK to watch this. Well done all of you for doing the right thing. Tonight I am so proud of your country America, all it stands for asll it aspires to be.
Responsibility was a word often says by M. OBAMA. The birth of this new hope is also our work.....the work of everybody....If we want to have all better days.
Yes we did! I look for great things from this man. I predict he will go down in history as one of our greatest presidents. Our country is going to turn around...
Yes, I confirm that we are many to feel happy about this!
The pure "Obama" as a title is very good, like the New York Times! The printed word has still a certain value! Some of the newspapers of the day are now sold at as much as 200$ - for the moment! (Did you keep yours?) Check on ebay!
I am very happy to see my American friends, and I have celebrated this election on my own blog. But I have tended not to trust any politician for years :-)))
c'est la fête, le rêve devient réalité
ReplyDeletefestival day, the dream becomes reality

I saw it already during my night, when I woke up about 4am our time and went to my Pc :)

ReplyDeleteThankfully it is over. Two years is a long time to watch an election process and I was getting tired of it. I am thankful Obama won.
ReplyDeleteOh, Kate! We had the same thought.
ReplyDeleteOur long, national nightmare is almost over.
