Slothful
A sleepy sloth or a sloth sleeping? I want back to the Como Conservatory to photograph the much publicized "corpse plant" (more tomorrow), and couldn't resist a visit to my favorite friend in the tropical area of the building. Don't malign sloths; they have the right idea, especially during these gray, rainy days!

oh what a strange creature, i've never seen slob other than on tv.
ReplyDeleteThey are really not named the way I would like them. But I like them in spite of their name. I like all that fur or long hair. Nice shot, Kate.
ReplyDeleteI think I was a Sloth in a past life! I love sleeping :)

ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the Sloth. It is a strange name for one of Nature's creatures....I like your site--neat.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in Panama we used to see them in trees. They told us they may be slow but they have sharp claws. To stay away.
ReplyDeleteHe is really slothful!
ReplyDeleteKate, I agree...I think that he has the right idea! That's a wonderful photo.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments on my blog. You always have the most interesting things to say. Please don't be jealous; by June it will begin to be too hot to do *anything* outside here after 10 am, and I'll be envious of your lovely outside shots! :)
superbe, on pourrait croire de voir un animal de la période de la préhistoire.
ReplyDeleteSuperb, it may seem to see an animal this period of prehistory.
Shhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI once held a sloth in the Amazon jungle. Our guide shimmied up the tree and brought it down, I was the only person in the group who wanted to hold it. They are sort of cute and furry, but you must watch out for the claws. They scratch like mad! Probably even more so when some damn tourist is interupting their slothful activites!
ReplyDeleteI missed this yesterday - wonderful photographs of an adorable creature. I feel slothful today...
ReplyDeleteLooking peaceful. THis lousy weather is making me feel sloth-like.
ReplyDeleteLovely creature - I find it much more interesting than the corpse-plant, fascinating though that may be.
ReplyDeleteIs it what we call in French "paresseux"
ReplyDeleteI do think so.
Thank you for coming back and showing to me the way, Kate.
When you'll come next time (to morrow for instance) and visit me, you'll see how were the wood and the green yard near my house on last Friday.
Cheers.
I don't think I've every really looked at one up close...or I would have remembered that nose.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for the big 500 post. glad I made it back in time.
I've never seen one before. Well, I've seen the cartoon version of a sloth but this is the first time I've seen a real one. :-)
