William Shakespeare was correct when he said: When sorrows come, they come not single spies but in battalions.
Late Saturday night on May 26th my sister who lives in Green Bay, WI had emergency surgery for a brain aneurysm; five days later -- today, Thursday May 31, her son and my nephew, had a heart attack and died this morning--about 6 hours ago. My own family right now is in the middle of making plans to travel there, where I will stay after they leave to return to St. Paul so that I can help my sister when she is discharged. She's still on a respirator. What a shocking and sad week this has been. I hope to continue to post photos while I'm there in order to stay focused on the present, but I doubt that I'll make many comments on your blogs. Keep us in your thoughts.

ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you during this very difficult time. When my father passed away in April I found that my photo post had more symbolism than they normally do. They served as an outlet for my emotions which I don't express well in words.
ReplyDeleteI am apalled by such terrible news Kate. That's the exact word for it, a tragedy. I had thought to pay you a visit after some so much time and look what I've found, this makes me really sad. I wish I were there to help, I think that would be the best thing to offer better than just say sorry. If there's anything we can do for you please say so.
