Holiday Elves-Monday Murals

After we were married in the '60's, Jim and I returned to his hometown, St. Paul, Mn, but during this entire time we never visited The American Swedish Institute.  Last week we went to the mansion for our weekly Friday Field Trip, a plan we have to visit something "cultural" in the metropolitan area once a week, usually on Fridays.  I cannot imagine what took us so long!  The new addition with its wonderful cafe and the stunning mansion was a perfect delight!  Go visit!

This large mural is on the wall of the Gallery gift shop.

  1. Strange how we humans can miss some of the best places to visit in our own neighbourhoods...for years and years...and then suddenly discover it!

  4. Sometimes the closeness of attractions leads us to think that we can go there anytime, and we never do. There are people who have grown up in Arizona and have never been to the Grand Canyon.

  5. That is a very good idea to make a date once a week. So many places to explore! This mural is right on time for the holiday season.

  8. It is great that you still go out exploring the city where you have lived for so long. So many people explore for the first year or two, then begin stagnating as they settle into old habits. I am probably as guilty as most, except that photography makes me go out.

  11. These elves look like they are taken from Victorian images. Possibly illustrations from a children's book? Very sweet and appealing. Thanks, Kate, for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
