Good equipment is one thing, artistic sense is another. The first one is a qustion of money, the second one a question of feeling. You have the second one for sure...
I have taken similar photos of Julie when she is in deep concentration taking photos. And, yes, I would like to have her equipment. I get her hand-me-down cameras when she gets new equipment.
For people with lens envy, they often can get better photos than the people with the huge lenses because it is so hard to hold the big lenses still. And it is so much quicker to point and capture a photo with a smaller camera and lens.
Hey, I think I do have the same as the guy in Yellow :) Just moved to the Canon 5D with a 70-200 f2.8l IS II USM lens. It is interesting moving from primarily using an f4 lens to an f2.8. I have to adjust for having so much light coming in. It is somewhat obvious, but I was not expecting that.
Looks like the battle of the lenses! I have a big lens. 300mm f2.8 to be exact but I rarely drag it out of its box anymore. I have to use a tripod with it and it tends to be too much trouble. I used to be able to hand hold it but I can't any more. Great shots of the photographers!
Good point about lens envy, although the object of my camera envy (Nikon d700) is a bit heavier than my current Nikon d70s and better balanced for those longer heavier lenses...so I think I'm still clinging to the dream!!!
le photographe photographié, j'ai remarque que les photographes aimaient bien se prendre en photo entre eux ;o))
ReplyDeleteThank you for the photos of people. For me they are the main salt of the photography.

That would make two of everything. I got the lenses and the cameras and still can't take good photos. I don't have the beard though.
ReplyDeleteI seem to suffer from lens envy a lot.
ReplyDeleteLove those lenses.
ReplyDeleteOh, my, I do seem to be developing camera envy disease. Is there are cure?
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to have missed the fun! Some BIG lenses there!

ReplyDeleteI feel severely under-lensed against those cameras with my point and shoot!

Caught in the act! :-) Great captures!
ReplyDeleteLooks like great fun. And nice weather. I think I have that top camera. D300? The second is a Canon, I believe.
