Juggling Themes!
I feel like a juggler because I have so many themes in which I am interested: St. Paul monuments and statues, historic houses, street art, and many more. I decided to resurrect my Minnesota workers series, especially since summer weather is so pleasant to be out and about. These men are working in 90 degree heat, repairing a sidewalk in the Highland Village shopping area. They were pleased to have their photo taken and to know that I honored their work!

Kate, I'm glad to see you're back with your workers theme. Of course, I enjoy all your themes but this is one of my favorites. And how wonderful to honor these workers
ReplyDeleteThanks for helping me figure out collages! And I agree.. now that it is summer and my work schedule is less hectic, I am really enjoying the slower pace and the opportunity to be outside, observe, and photograph.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a hot week or so. I couldn't imagine working outdoors for a living and working my butt off on top of the heat.
ReplyDeleteAh, I'm so glad that you are promoting men's businesses and interests.
ReplyDeleteVery nice (to see others work?)!
ReplyDeleteGood that you asked them before publishing. I took a photo of some gentlemen playing cards in a park the other day and then one of them protested. I of course promised not to publish it. I guess his employer or wife imagined that he was at work!
I like working photos. The only problem is that it is hard to find anybody doing anything outside in the heat.
ReplyDeleteYour photo is nice and the narrative is interesting too.
It's so nice that they like having their photos taken. Overhere everyone sees it as an invasion of privacy!
ReplyDeleteAs Mandi said, here, they are obsessed about privacy too (except when they talk at cell phone shouting own and other tel numbers). Then, as you know, I love yout themes and I'm greedy of any photo you will publish about.
ReplyDeleteMen at work it's a very interesting and this photo shows how much
des metiers tres dur, qui permettent de rendre une ville tres belle à voir
ReplyDeletetrades very hard, which make it possible to make a city very beautiful to see
I cannot imagine working out in the heat. In FLorida, we get all our physical activities done before 10AM and after 6PM.
ReplyDeleteI think they should be wearing hats, too.
I like this theme...I liked it when you did it last year...was it policeman you took his picture through the window, or am I confusing that one? 90 degrees already...my goodness, what will July and August bring.
ReplyDeleteI lifted heavy things outside for a living as a young man. I still remember and appreciate the physical toll brutal work can take on a person. I realized early on that I couldn't do that forever and went back to college.
ReplyDeleteNow after four back surgeries, I'm thankful to have a job where I use my head and not my back.
Wonderful shot of the guys getting the work done there.
