Post #500-Minnesota Workers Series (#3)

Blogger and I have not been on good terms the last few days, but I finally got to post again ... and I've made it to my milestone!! What better way to celebrate post #500 for this blog than with smiling faces of happy workers at Lund's Super Market!

If I were also to count my Mazatlán, México blog, it would be 685 posts. Although I may have missed a day or two here and there, I think that I've been pretty faithful and have enjoyed every minute of it. I don't know which I enjoy more--taking photos, reading your comments, or visiting your blogs. Thanks, everyone, for your visits and encouragement!!

MN Worker-A Great Dad!

A different kind of worker!

I stopped to chat with a neighbor whom I had never met before when I saw his head poking above their very high fence. He obviously was working on a tree house that I could barely see but which intrigued me. His young daughter was ready for this new backyard environment, and Dad was working to repair and refurbish the old structure for his child. Aren't Dads great?!

A Familiar Summer Sight

Every little boy's dream job (or is this a sexist statement?). Lake Street, a main artery between the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, is being torn up this summer. The concentration on this worker's face indicates the need to pay close attention. To see some of the work he did, check here.

MN Worker

Summer is the prime season to get household tasks and outdoor building jobs completed. Craftsman have been busy up and down my street: completing landscaping, paving driveways, replacing roofs, repairing porches and steps, and myriad other jobs. This fine young man is a friend and co-worker
of this young man!

Mn Worker?

A wonderful way to spend an afternoon. I wonder if all these fisherman actually eat the fish they pull from the Mississippi. I guess I'd have second thoughts. Maybe I'm just too cautious.

MN Worker

If we had this kind of weather year round and abundant flowers and vegetables I can now find at the Farmers' Market, I would never leave, but..........

Back in St. Paul-MN Workers

Leaf-bearing trees have a tendency to clog rain gutters. To avoid this problem, many homeowners apply leaf guards, which are a simple system of screens atop the gutters that help keep them clean and free of debris. One of the workers on my neighbor's house can be seen below.

Juggling Themes!

I feel like a juggler because I have so many themes in which I am interested: St. Paul monuments and statues, historic houses, street art, and many more. I decided to resurrect my Minnesota workers series, especially since summer weather is so pleasant to be out and about. These men are working in 90 degree heat, repairing a sidewalk in the Highland Village shopping area. They were pleased to have their photo taken and to know that I honored their work!
