Meet Maggie Brown

While checking a newly constructed home in her neighborhood for some interesting photos, I stopped to chat with Maggie Brown who had greeted me cordially. 86-year-old Maggie is a lifelong resident of Mount Pleasant, SC. After teaching for 25 years at the elementary level in the Charleston area schools, Maggie retired. This friendly woman of amazing energy had 5 girls and 3 boys, two of whom have died, but the rest of her offspring check on her regularly, which she thinks is really unnecessary, With her energy she certainly is independent and plans to be around for many more years.

  8. Her white hair is the only age giveaway. Yet she's had 8 kids and done 25 years of teaching. She's one resiliant lady! Nice portrait.

  9. Nice portrait. She looks like she has many stories to share...including how she looks so well preserved at her age after teaching for so many years and raising 8 children.
