  1. Magnifique, cela fait classe sur une voiture, le plus dur c'est de ne pas se le faire voler.....

  3. That's from the 1935 Auburn is it Kate. A flying angel, how very elegant and suits the car perfectly.

  4. They just don't make 'em like they used to...but, the downside is that hood ornaments like this would often get stolen by nasty little kids...or so I've heard.

    Are you a Harley rider?

  6. So elegant. It reminds me a bit of the hood ornament Pontiacs used to have. Gorgeous!

  7. Gorgeous! You don't see these things any longer.

  8. Now there is a classic! We don't see details nor chrome like this anymore. Our modern vehicles are now made out of plastic and/or recycled milk containers.

  9. I would be afraid to park a car with a hood ornament like that. I used to have a classic Mercedes and had to replace the hood ornament twice, and they are not even unusual.

Julie was once in Palm Springs with her mother, having driven my new Mercedes there, and she called me late on a Saturday night to say that they had just learned from the waitress at dinner that the Coachella Rock Festival was going on down the road, and Prince would be performing, so they were headed there, and she asked me "Do you think your hood ornament will still be there when we leave?"

    Fortunately, it was.

  10. The ornament is gorgeous, of course, but it is frighteningly sharp. A few days ago I parked next to a new Bentley and was terrified that I would scrape it getting out of my car. Relevant? I don't know. It came to mind . . .

  16. Don't you just love these wonderful hood ornaments? New cars can't live up to this. In the old days, cars had works of art right out front and were made to be a thing of beauty.
