I would have too Kate. What a beauty!! I have no idea what it is (major car pleb!) but it's got amazing style. A bit 'Great Gatsby' don't you think? Well spotted indeed!!
I believe it's an Auburn. It certainly looks like some photos of the Auburn Speedster that I found when I Googled "1930s 851 car" in Google Images. Totally gorgeous. Thanks!
Kate, this Auburn is a "replicar", and a very good one. Its lines are faithful to the original Auburn 851, but it has a modern power train and amenities. One tip off that it is a replica are the Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels. They are a smaller diameter than the originals.
quel design, elle est magnifique cette voiture, j'adore
ReplyDeleteReally impressive, I can't tell if it is old or ultra modern, magnificent and elegant car!
ReplyDeleteOh.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the headline, I thought "That's very self-descriptive..."

ReplyDeleteNow that's a gleaming old beauty! I also wonder what make, year, history, etc!
ReplyDeleteImagine tooling up and down Summit Ave in that car!
i'd love to hear the whole story, wouldn't you?
ReplyDeleteI think it's an "Undo". That's what it says on the hub cap, anyway...
ReplyDeleteA beauty it is! The smaller photo on the left is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI guess you were on your bike. It is a beauty, for sure!
ReplyDeleteSleek!

ReplyDeleteIt was well worth the stop! This truly is a GREAT find!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo op! I would have stopped too to look closely at and take photos of this very cool car.
ReplyDeleteGASP!
ReplyDeleteIt is very "Great Gatsby" indeed. Did you climb in and act like Daisy in GG, flinging your head back in a haughty manner and shrieking with delight?
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
Is this what your driving to Santa Fe?
ReplyDeleteEven though I am not a car guy, this one would get me interested. As a rental, not to own!
