In the small Irving Park neighborhood which is filled with delightful old homes (see yesterday's post), and which is close to downtown St. Park, there is a well-landscaped central park area. The central features are a beautiful fountain and this gazebo. A number of young people I know who economized on their wedding held their ceremony and reception there. A great idea!
"Hear the mellow wedding bells/ Golden bells! What a world of happiness their harmony foretells/ Through the balmy air of night/ How they ring out their delight!" Edgar Allan Poe
I like the contrast between the gran house and the idea of a simple ceremony in this lovely gazebo.
ReplyDeletethe sight of many a prom photo op!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great area for any gathering.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place for a wedding. Fingers crossed for all those who choose it that the weather behaves.
ReplyDeleteCute gazebo! I'm going to have to get down to Irving Park!
ReplyDeleteVery midwestern! I love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to process a "wedding poem" by Edgar Allan Poe... : ) Love it!
ReplyDeleteNice photo. I love the shadows and the light. I love small parks like this.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly looks like a nice place for a wedding. I bet you could really spruce it up with ribbons and flowers!
ReplyDeleteThe name Irving Park is familiar to me, but I can't recall being there. Love those old neighborhoods in the Twin Cities...there's something solidly appealing to them that probably goes back to my childhood.
ReplyDeleteI can see why couples would use this park and gazebo for a wedding ceremony!
Charming!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely structure, (its name here in Mexico is Quiosco) both words are great. And the sounds of Poe are superb!
ReplyDeleteWhat a grand structure, perfect for wedding ceremonies.
ReplyDeleteI have witnessed one wedding ceremony at this very gazebo about 7-8 years ago. Until then, I hadn't realized just how many others have also been married here.
