All kinds of activities occur in the Paddock at Canterbury Park. As I was waiting to see the horses and jockeys with my single lens Canon CAMERA at the ready, I observed this professional CAMERA MAN snapping the action. What I wouldn't give for the equipment he is using!

Ahhh...but it's three times harder to carry around from place to place. :-)
ReplyDeleteen pleine action du cameraman, belle photo.
ReplyDeletein full action of the cameraman, nice photograph.
Yes, I see professionals with amazing camera equipment too from time to time and feel somewhat daunted for the same reasons as you!
ReplyDeleteMy photos aren't up to much but at least I can carry my camera in one hand!
ReplyDeleteNice one!
ReplyDeleteHe looks worried though! And I wouldn't like to lug that thing about, a small hand camera is just a bit easier then...
ReplyDeleteThey are available. LOL It takes more money than your Canon, I am sure of that. They also do a lot with them. I know you wouldn't want to lug that outfit around with you every day.
ReplyDeleteWe had a television camera we used to make videos (that's how I got on television -- execs saw the results) and in those days it was huge and weighed a ton and the battery pack as a large box like a tool chest and the recorder was the same size and you had to have a small television set hooked up to it if you wanted to see what was going on film. It was made by RCA and was one of the first mobile recording television cameras.
This is a nice photograph of something a lot more modern than what we had.
I am still making history on my Pick a Peck of Pixels blog. Today I posted a Zebra Butterfly with long tails. He is as big as your hand. Most have never seen one. Now you can see one at
Pick a Peck of Pixels
I think you mean Denise Nesbitt's BLOG.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to start Collecting plenty of Cash for Cameras Comparable to this Cs theme!
ReplyDeleteEven this professional is drooling at his kit. Very very expenvie and heavy. Your canon captured a beautiful portrait of the man at work, and that's down to the photographer, whatever the kit.
ReplyDeleteI bet he can't have the fun you have: for he it is only work...
ReplyDeleteHe has a great job, and it doesnt look very hot outside up there.
ReplyDeleteGreat camera but you will have to get someone to watch it for you while you go to place a bet.
ReplyDeleteA cameraman! Excellent choice! And I agree with Sharon - it's just three times the weight (if not more) to carry about with you. How often would you use it, if it weren't your job?
ReplyDeleteNice capture, I love the look of concern on his face. I would settle for just the tripod.
ReplyDeletePerfect C post Kate. Great camera but like Sharon...too much for me to handle.
ReplyDeleteGreat CAPTURE! :D
ReplyDeleteIts all going on there then! Great photo, impressive camera!
ReplyDeleteOhh what I would give for that camera and equipment :) Of course I wouldn't know what to do with it but I would love to try.
ReplyDeleteExcellent shot! Wow - does someone carry all the parts for him? Guess I'll stick with my little pocket sized point and shoot.
