The entire process of getting ready for a race is quite fascinating. I can't imagine why there are so many handlers for each horse. I suppose it's because each race follows closely behind the one preceding it...usually about 30-35 minutes. Many hands make quick work!
le cheval semble assez nerveux...
ReplyDeletethe horse seems quite nervous ...
This horse is indeed the center of attention.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you are enjoying the series on the total eclipse of the sun that Julie is running on her Scottsdale Daily Photo site. It was a great trip to the South Pacific.
Julie and I have started a new blog to show some of our favorite travel photos, starting with a series from Petra, Jordan.
Great photo! How'd you get back there where the handlers are?
ReplyDeleteThey are such incredible animals. Bred and born to do one thing.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we have races around here. I'd love to go to see the horses though. THey are such beautiful creatures.
ReplyDeleteThese are magnificent animals. To be almost as nice as a lap dog but bigger. I like just about everything about horses.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping and commenting on my bird this morning. It sure is appreciated, Kate.

Pick a Peck of Pixels
The preparation is amazing! You don't think about the behind the scenes stuff when you watch a race. Great post.
ReplyDeleteWe don't see this often and the horse seems to feel uneasy. Very good shot.
