Guess Who!

Yesterday I showed you a photo of Olivia during a riding lesson. Retirement has many benefits; it allows the realization of long-held wishes, dreams, and fantasies. Olivia and her grandfather, whom she calls Da, are taking riding lessons together! What a twosome!!

  1. These horse photographs are wonderful. Looks like that husband of yours was having a grand time. Love the smaller photo of Olivia riding her horse. Memories for ever.

  2. Grand'father and grand'daughter ! How cute they are both !

I'm afraid with horses, it's so. They are so huge !
And yet my younger son when little wanted to ride them
I said nothing and however was rather anxious, especially once when he falled rather heavily on the sand. I was so proud to see this so tiny boy managing to do his horse moving back for instance !
My son had to stop because he had no more time and had to make a choice.

Kate, it's great you are happy with blogging again.
Sometimes it's beneficial having a pause.

  7. I used to call my grandfather Da too. I have hardly ever heard it used, I think it's Irish origin or something - but I think my Da got it from a movie. :)

In any case, it's always good to live your dreams, whether young or old.

  10. Isn't it great to be able to enjoy like with your loved ones? and thanks for all the visits to my son's Beijing pictures. He left the USA after college 4 years ago to go and visit and then decided to stay and learn Mandarin. He is fluent and can almost write those pesky letters. He teaches English and works for different companies that hire him for computer work as well as English translations on web pages so the page reads as if an English speaking person wrote it. They have a tendency to mix up pronouns as they have none and not to use prepositions and articles..for the same reason. Interestingly , they also have a different sense of time as in.....yesterday and tomorrow are confusing as they sound the same so they specify the date or day. He has learned alot but so far shows no desire to return home....yet. He said the Olympics were very very exciting.
