Adirondak Chairs

I have lived in the same house in this neighbourhood since 1976. Through the years, neighbours have come and gone, but the popularity of front lawn benches and chairs have remained constant. The most popular are Adirondaks but the curious thing about all these inviting-looking chairs is that I have NEVER seen anyone sitting or resting on one of them.  I walk regularly at different times of day and often am accompanied by my dog, Wild Wendy,  but cannot recall seeing anyone socialising or relaxing, making good use of these lawn ornaments.  Curious!

There is a happy birthday bag on one of the white chairs above.  I wonder if I missed seeing anyone celebrating on the lawn during the celebration?

  1. We call those Muskoka chairs here after the cottage area north of Toronto.

  2. Maybe they are using those Adirondack chairs as decor items! : ) They look great anywhere, mainly the colourful ones.

In Ontario we call them Muskoka chairs. They are very, very comfortable.

  3. We call them Muskokas, and I've always liked them. I was sitting in one a few days ago- there are a number of them set overlooking a waterfall here.

  4. My friend David had several of these at his cabin when he had the place. They just remind me of summer.

  5. My friends back in Maine have some of those. I believe they had three of them and they were red, white and blue.

  6. We have two of these chairs on our deck, and they are most comfortable for lounging, reading, or just enjoying the air.

  7. We got four of these for our deck this year and have spent some very happy hours in them so far, despite some chilly days. Ours are deliciously comfortable, well angled and nicely constructed.
