LONE WOLF

There seems to be an endless controversy about wolves and whether or not they should be protected. Each side seems to have valid arguments for their position. The painting that is on exhibit at Cafe Latte on Grand Avenue (see yesterday's post) shows the conundrum faced by wild animals when "civilisation" impinges upon their natural territory.

  1. Hello, it is a beautiful painting of the wolf. I think all the critters deserve to live in their habitats. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend.

  3. That is beautifully done.

If you've ever heard the howl of a wolf at night, it totally dispels the bad reputation. It's one of the most achingly beautiful sounds imaginable.

  4. What a beautiful painting, I love it. There was a lot of controversy about wolves when I was living in Alaska. Some people wanted to be able to hunt them using a helicopter. Don't know if they won or lost that on that issue.

  9. I like it when coffee shops and restaurants display and often sell local artt... As for the wolves they are beautiful animals but I wouldn't want to come upon a pack while hiking.

  10. I haven't followed it (it breaks my heart) but our local paper is reporting news about wolves in a Washington pack being killed and I also saw a reference that wolves have been found to not impact deer populations. The reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone has yielded enormous ecosystem benefits, beyond any expected, in animal populations and reductions of impacts on the landscape.
