The Great Pumpkin?!

Could one of these be Linus' Great Pumpkin in disguise?!

  1. There used to be so many of these 'American-type', thin-skinned pumpkins here, but hard to find now anywhere, even on a ride through the country. They do sell the thick-fleshed ones and they're the best for pie....but impossible almost to carve for a jack o'lantern.

  3. Could be, but I think he was looking for a bigger one!

  5. Did you pick up a pumpkin to bring home and carve?

  6. Beautiful! Hope it was a sincere pumpkin patch, or you're doooooooomed. I've always wondered what tying cornstalks to things has to do with Hallowe'en. It looks cool, but I've always associated corn more with Thanksgiving than Hallowe'en.

  7. No, no Great Pumpkin here. I've already shown a more likely suspect. Linus could reach it by standing on a stool. No prob.

  8. Hi Kate: Re your comment on Sharon's blog: Yep, you're right. I do remember now. But you must remember that I'm ancient and my old brain doesn't work so good. Are you going to Santa Fe this year?

  9. What says autumn better than a patch of pumpkins? Nothing I can think of!

  10. I am missing these in Florida, but I can handle that.

  11. I heard that this was a bad year for pumpkins and a pumpkin shortage was implied. From the looks of things I've seen, however, that doesn't seem to be the case. These nice shots testify to it, too.

  12. Linus might be distracted this year trying to evade a blonde who thinks he's her sweet baboo.
