"Dog Pack"'

Without exception, every year my first stop at the State Fair is the Fine Arts Building, which showcases juried art work of Minnesota artists.  I am always impressed by the array of talent, and I spend a very long time looking at the paintings, photography, sculptures and textiles. For each photo I took very careful notes on title, size, medium, and artist. . . of course, I lost the list before the end of the day! Why didn't I use my iPhone for notes?!
It  is difficult to select a favorite among them but this one was high on my list.

  2. I know what you mean Kate. The younger generation does everything on their phones....Me, I am still searching for pen and paper.
I like this photo a lot too. Tough little guy.

  6. People think of state fairs as places for food, farm animals, and rides. Thank you for highlighting the arts.

  13. I'm sure I would do the same if I went to the fair. Too bad you lost your notes, I would have loved to know more about this photography.
I assume it's from several decades ago? A very strong image anyway. I can understand why it was among your favorites.

  15. This is a great shot; it looks unstaged and natural.
I sympathize with your lost notes. I took a long walk with a ranger last month, took lots of notes, carefully shoved them into a (too shallow) pocket, and lost everything.
