Symmetrical
I decided that I would post doors as a new theme and drove down Summit Avenue to see what I could find. I immediately noticed how the facades of some houses were very symmetrical in style. So I might as well extend this post as an "S" as I did on the last two days.
The weather is so gray and dreary that it is difficult to get motivated for any kind of photo shoot.

Those are very stylish houses with impressive entrees.
ReplyDeleteKate, it seems to me if the weather is gray, you have found some lovely color...I'm enjoying seeing these stately doors & houses, thank you...
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful houses. I know what you mean about the weather. My first three days in London were so dreary that it slowed down my photography. I was surprised when I downloaded the photos that some of those shots taken on the dreary days were not bad.
ReplyDeletedid you know there's a big new lavish coffee table book out about the houses of Summit Avenue? And where's your reading journal---is it online? I'm curious about your reaction to THE DEATH OF SANTINI.
ReplyDeleteWell, you wouldn't know that the weather was gray and dreary from looking at those two lovely facades!
ReplyDeleteLove the symmetry! I know how you feel about the weather. I haven't seen a blue sky in ages.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that appears to be not symmetrical is the doorbell button.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful houses!
ReplyDeletei love doorways on houses. I photography them often
ReplyDeleteWonderful homes that look well maintained. Love this sort of thing.
ReplyDeleteThese are great. In response to your post on my blog, I would but I am pretty happy with the property that I have in Abiquiu and wouldn't trade that for anything.
ReplyDeletereally nice places!
ReplyDeleteNice curb appeal. You have these cropped so well that we don't even notice the dreary weather.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful houses!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for S. They are symmetrical and attractive. Carver, ABC Wed. Team
ReplyDeleteGreat porches I must admit.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots. Grey skies can dampen creativity and enthusiasm. I find winter photography a challenge...
ReplyDeleteAn interesting theme you have chosen. I wonder if the doors will give us an insight to the occupants that live behind the entrances?
ReplyDeleteI love those big, intimidating doors! Great shots.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful doors, houses, and symmetry!

You have chosen a beautiful theme. As you said the photos also represents your theme.
ReplyDeleteLove porches....and pretty old houses.
ReplyDeleteBy the way...your gray, cloudy, clod weather blew into north Texas wit a vengeance last night.
Indeed! I have fond memories of Summit Avenue as my uncles family lived out there when I was a boy. The tunnel going up to Selby, I think it was, always fascinated. Enjoyed your post about Pat Conroy and the Citadel. As a sometime basketball coach the place seemed way over the top.....;)
ReplyDeleteIt looks so elegant!
