Shaggy Dog

You've heard the phrase "a shaggy dog story" haven't you? Well, here she is--another Starbucks dog. Customers often bring their dog along, most of whom wait patiently while the owners sip their cafe, read the newspapers, write in their journals, study for exams, or just simply gossip. Haven't got a tale to go along with this shaggy dog, though.

  4. I would believe that this brushing is there by purpose, but some of you may know better? To me the look of this dog is fine!

  5. Are the dogs allowed inside Starbucks, Kate? This looks like a Coton de Tuleur, which is a dog from Madagascar that is often seen around here. Sadly, they are dogs that used to be put on a hook and thrown out as fishing bait. Many dogs still are. Other breeds too. Too awful.

If not, she's a Maltese Terrier perhaps or a Bichon that needs grooming. No matter, she's with her owner and that's what matters. Dogs like to BE with us.

At least s/he can see. I hate it when their eyes are covered. Nice shot Kate.

  9. one tale concerns a local lost dog who was recently found thousands of miles to the north in Darwin, the micro chip led to the owner and it was flown back home, had similar style and size as shaggy dog and curls that had been dyed by the thief.

  10. That is a shaggy dog. That dog could use a little hairspray.

  11. I thought Jilly wld have some insights (too awful! amazing anaecdotes).

Kate....the chat with the canal lady was very interesting. She lives in the rear cabin. Is totally "coal fired" 365x24 for all needs. A typical canal dwellers', bargeborne existence, just like from way-back.

  12. Yes, it looks like a Coton De Tulear or maybe a Bichon Bolognese? Lovely little doggie.

BTW, Kate, have you been able to access the portal today? I keep getting the "connection has timed out" message.

  13. A little mousse would be quite stylish, but I guess the windblown style is very in now.

  14. I have a little maltese (I've often wondered if he might be a Bolognese as his hair isn't silky straight but rather is like this one) that was rescued from a shelter. He's one of the major joys of my life.

Free - at least hair, wild and happy - hopefully!
Good, pleasant weekend to you, Kate!

  17. I thought our poodles needed a hair cut, but now I don't feel so guilty. I think they're cute when they are fluffy. A little brushing now and then helps though.
