Peace Car

To see and read more art work and slogans painted on this car click here for Rosa Parks, Ghandi and others.
I found this car parked at a curb in downtown St. Paul by Rice Park. No-one was around to quiz and inquiries of other bystanders yielded no answers. Obviously someone has a message for us. The other messages on the trunk, front of the car and the other side are equally as colourful.

  1. je viens de voir tes photos avec les slogans, c'est vraiment superbe et une très très bonne idée. Bravo, une idée a faire suivre dans les autres villes.

I have just seen your photographs with the slogans, it is really superb and one very very good idea. Cheer, an idea has to make follow in the other cities.

  2. Perhaps someone who truly "walks their talk" on human rights...or perhaps I should say rides their talk. Nice job of being in the right place at the right time.

  4. This is an excellent find, Kate. You should arrange an exhibition at the MIA... ;-)

  5. A very original way to leave a number of really good messages! Also quite cleverly done! (To sell the car second hand maybe an issue?) It would have been nice if you had found the owner. Maybe another day?

Interesting. That wellspring, in my case, is my wife of 52 years. I think. And I tell her sometimes how important she is and has been. I like your photo today. It is a good thing to think about too.

  8. It's great to see someone expressing themselves like this (even if it's through the words of others). If it weren't for the modern minivan, you might think this was from the 60s!

  12. What a find. What I love is that in none of the slogans are we being told what to do. They are simply suggestions and so we are far more likely to read and absorb.
