Circle Theme #15

Jim, a good friend of ours, has had several eye surgeries, but the eye patch makes him look sort of dashing...like a pirate, perhaps??

Mark Twain:
"Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life."

Student Art #3

This portrait is quite a bit different than some of the previous pieces of art that I've posted. I'd love to be as talented as this artist.

4th of July Treat

Devoid of inspiration and not wanting to use any of the standards (flags, bunting) for my 4th of July blog, I asked DH to take me to Lunds to photograph a cake. The light wasn't right and the snaps were really substandard. When he saw the gleam in my eye, he did a quick fade--knowing what I'd do. He didn't stick around when I asked the lovely young clerk to remove the cake from the case and let me include her in my blog. Well, Jim's making progress; he willingly stopped at the super market to get my photo, but he still draws the line when I enlist total strangers. What a guy!!
