Twin City Marathon, 2016

Perfect weather for the marathon: sun, blue sky, and  cooler temperatures. This year I got to Summit Avenue at the wrong place and the wrong time. The trees produced alternating patches of sun and shade plus the major share of the runners had already gone past the block when I had arrived. Next year I will arrive earlier and select a better place to photograph.  The variety of marathoners always makes it interesting!

  1. Years ago I use to jog and entered some cross country races, but was never up to doing a marathon. I have great respect for anyone who enters and finishes one of these races. Fine photos.

  2. Lois has run the New York and Disney Marathons. She always wanted to run the Twin Cities one, but never had the opportunity. Just as well. Marathoners are nuts!

  4. Cheers to all the runners who participated. I use to be a runner but never ran a marathon. Fifteen miles was my limit. Fantastic photos Kate!

  6. I think it would be fun to do but I think I missed my chance years ago. I think I'm doing good to take my 3 mile walk every day.

  7. Only once in my life did I run for exercise and then my ankles started bothering me so I stuck with walking.

  8. I walk a lot, but jogging's not quite my thing.

We have marathon and running events here regularly, including one I'll be featuring later this week that happened in September.

  9. Good for all of the runners. (I've always opted for walking.)
Don't you just hate it when you get your wires crossed?
