MORA-#8-The Final Post

I can't stop posting the objects from the gift shop in the Museum of Russian Art without showing this hand-painted chest and embroidery. I am pleased that crafts have now been elevated to a higher art form than in the past.

  1. The top shot reminds me of a Chinese chest my mother received many years ago from a missionary to China. It was beautiful. When my mother died, it went to my sister as I recall which is fine as she really wanted it. It was very ornate with dynamic colors.

  2. Beautiful pieces of art! The painted chest reminds me a little of Norwegian "Rosemaling" - similar but different!
